When you look for a job, the most important is to write a proper CV as it is very important to make a good impression in your future employer or advisor.
About the CV
Before you start to edit your CV think over what you want.
- What is your aim to achieve by applying a position
- Think over your claims, expectations. These expectations should be realistic. Think over your education, experience, qualification. The vacancy you apply for should be appropriate.
- Your style should be consistent
- Don’t write a CV longer than 1.5-2 pages. Employers usually don’t like reading long winded CVs. Try to outline the most important things.
- Take care of spelling
A good CV contains:
- Personal data Name, date of birth, address, telephone number
- Educational data Important to list in chronological order
- Professional experience, workplaces List the workplaces in reversed chronological order. Write a few words about the company and the position. List your tasks.
- Foreign language knowledge List the foreign languages you speak as nowadays it is impossible to win a good position without at least one foreign language. Don’t write knowledge what you don’t have. The employer will check it on the interview.
- PC knowledge Nowadays good candidates should have PC knowledge.
- Other qualification, trainings It is usefull to list the trainings you have participated even if they are not directly connected to the position.
- Photo It is advantageous to enclose a photograph. Try to find a nice picture of you. Don’t enclose a bad picture
- Signature Don’t forget to sign your CV.
Letter
It is usefull to send a letter with the CV. Don’t write to much, 1 page is enough. The aim of the letter is to arise the employer’s interest.

About the interview
It’s important to get some information of the company before the interview. What is the company’s dealing with? Usefull to search for the company’s homepage, as the most important information are usually published there.
Advisable to arrive in time, but calculate with 5-10 minutes to register at reception. It’s indecent to arrive much more earlier or to be late.

Be opened. Act as a partner as to form a friendly relationship with your future employer is in the intrest of both of the parties. If you do not like your interview partner or attitude of the company from the first moment there is no reason to force. Just think it over! How many hours do you spend with your colleagues on a workday? If you are in a friendly relationship you will be well- balanced and satisfied. It is important to choose a company where you feel good and you can co-operate with your colleagues well.
